Getting ready to take the field. All 20 players had to submit a detailed application to play in this game. It is sponsered/run by nationally known sports talk radio, WWLS the Sport Animal out of Oklahoma City. 10 Sooners and 10 Cowboys (Pokes if you're asking me) took the field at halftime of a Oklahoma City Yard Dawgs game (Arena Football).

Getting ready to play. I'm one of the guys wearing #18 on the crimson team, but NOT wearing a hat. Some other Sooner also had a Jason White Jersey but is skinnier and wore a hat.

I am in the center of the picture getting ready for the dodge-off. This game is sanctioned by the ADAA, The American Dodgeball Association of America.

I was almost jumping the gun at the dodge-off. I of course used my blazing speed to reach those two balls on the right, grabbing one and knocking one back before any Poke could get to them. As a team us Sooners probably snatched 80% of the dodge-off balls. It was a key to victory, demoralizing them from the get-go.

There I have just launched one of my missiles at a Poke. My ball is the one airborne near the center of the picture. Over 9,000 people watched me play dodgeball, certainly something I'll be able to tell my grandkids.

I'm still in the game. Reverting back to the 5 dodgeball
"D's" instilled within me by Patches O'Hoolihan, which of course are Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive, and Dodge; I caught two Pokes' balls, eliminating them, but some lucky Poke caught one of my missles after bobbling it several times, and I was knocked out 3rd to last on the OU team.

It came down to mono-e-mono, and my Sooner brother beat a Poke who had cheated to reach the end, aptly dressed just like Joe Dirt (I wish I made this stuff up people). We are celebrating our sweet victory.
